Tim is a Lawyer in the Commercial Litigation Team.
Tim specialises in commercial litigation and construction law matters. His commercial litigation experience includes partnership disputes, property disputes, motor vehicle accident litigation (acting for insurers and individuals), negligence claims, debt recovery, claims made under the Trade Practices Act 1974, employment matters, and a wide variety of other general commercial and contractual disputes.
While in New Zealand, Tim worked for CreditLink, a debt recovery organisation as in house counsel, conducting and overseeing large volumes of debt recovery work for external clients.
His construction law experience includes litigating general recovery actions in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts and in construction matters, payment claims and adjudication applications under the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004, issuing subcontractor’s charges under the Subcontractor’s Charges Act 1974, disputes between owners and builders (acting for both owners and builders).

Experience
- Making and defending claim in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts in a wide variety of general commercial and contractual matters.
- Acting for contractors and subcontractors in actions to recover payment for construction work;
- Acting for owners and builders in disputes regarding residential construction work;
- Acting both insurers and individuals in motor vehicle accident proceedings;
- Making adjudication applications under the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004;
- Acting for claimants in cases involving allegations of misleading and deceptive conduct under the Trade Practices Act 1974;
- Negotiating settlements in partnership disputes;
- Making and defending claims in the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal involving construction and Body Corporate disputes;
