Mr Phillips, of Redcliffe, was 96 when he died of pneumonia in October 2003.
With no family, he changed his will months before his death to leave his fortune to the Allan Phillips World Peace Trust.
He had previously planned to leave the bulk of his money to the Communist Party of Australia, of which he had been a member for more than 60 years.
Allan Phillips left a substantial sum of money to be applied to World Peace and the Preservation of the Environment.
Mr Phillips, who lived alone at Redcliffe, made his money as a specialised roofing carpenter. He invested in cheap homes and used his skills to renovate them for resale.
He said the secret to his longevity was drinking a concoction of honey, garlic, olive oil and other ingredients.
Above all, Mr Phillips was a keen amatuer poet.
The earlier will had left almost all of his money to the Communist party, apart from $70,000 to the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, Animal Liberation (Qld), Greenpeace Australia and the Greens NSW.
The trustees Michael Quinn, Damian Scattini and Andrew Malins of Kitchen Malins & Ward Accountants, invite written submissions for endowment from interested parties with worthwhile causes consistent with the aims of Mr Phillips. Write to The Allan Phillips World Peace Trust, GPO Box 2968, Brisbane QLD 4001.
